New year, new Missouri minimum wage increase! As of January 1, 2022, the minimum wage in Missouri increased to $11.15. This applies to all private, non-exempt businesses. If you are a tipped employee, you must now be paid a minimum of $5.575 per hour plus any amount necessary to bring the total compensation to $11.15 per hour.
There are a few exemptions to minimum wage, however. Retail and service businesses whose annual gross sales are less than $500,000 are exempt. The minimum wage does not apply to public employees either. If you have additional questions, you can check out labor.mo.gov/dls/minimumwage to learn more.

With the new minimum wage requirements of $11.15, your overtime should be paid out at $16.725.
